WASHINGTON: The United States Central Command (Centcom) has announced that it has lifted the blockade on maritime traffic traveling to and from Iranian ports, following orders from US President Donald Trump.
In a statement shared on X, Centcom said that American forces are no longer preventing the movement of vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
“All US military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased,” Centcom stated.
The command added that US naval forces would remain in the region to monitor compliance and ensure that all parts of the agreement continue to be implemented and remain in effect.
“Our great naval ships will remain in the general area to make sure that all aspects of the agreement are adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect,” Centcom said.
