New Dehli: Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the ruling establishment of widespread electoral manipulation, alleging that votes have been stolen for years through the deletion and addition of names in voter lists.
Speaking at a public gathering, Gandhi claimed that 15 percent of India’s voters were removed from electoral rolls after the 2024 general elections, arguing that the development raises serious questions about the legitimacy of the electoral process.
He described the 2024 election as an “illegal election” and a “stolen election,” alleging systematic manipulation of voter lists.
In his remarks, Gandhi also criticised the government’s economic policies, saying that farmers were being denied their rights, young people were struggling to find jobs, and workers were not receiving their due rights.
He further alleged that India’s wealth had become concentrated in the hands of just two or three individuals, highlighting growing economic inequality.
“We do not want such an India, and we will not accept such an India,” Gandhi said, rejecting what he described as an unjust economic and political system.
His remarks have renewed the debate over electoral transparency, democratic accountability and economic inequality in India.
