Pakistan Crush Australia by 111 Runs to Seal 3-0 Sweep

LAHORE: Mohammad Nawaz claimed a brilliant five-wicket haul as Pakistan crushed Australia by 111 runs on Sunday to complete a clean 3-0 sweep of the T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium.

The emphatic win capped Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka next month.

Chasing a stiff target of 208, Australia were bundled out for just 96 in 16.5 overs as Nawaz led a dominant bowling display with figures of 5 for 18. Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah claimed one each.

Marcus Stoinis top-scored for Australia with 23, while Cameron Green made 22. Only Josh Philippe also reached double figures with 14.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 207 for 6 after opting to bat first. Saim Ayub anchored the innings with a fluent 56, while Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 50. Shadab Khan provided late fireworks with a rapid 46 off 19 balls, helping Pakistan surge past the 200 mark.

Ben Dwarshuis was Australia’s most successful bowler, picking up two wickets, as Pakistan sealed the series in commanding fashion.
