TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran is not seeking war, but will not surrender to pressure, threats, or external coercion.
He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony marking the anniversary of the death of Iran’s revolutionary leader Ruhollah Khomeini. During his speech, he emphasized that war is not in Iran’s national interest.
However, Pezeshkian also made it clear that Iran cannot be forced to bow to intimidation, stressing that the country will not compromise on its sovereignty or national dignity.
“If they choose aggression, we will never retreat,” he said, adding that those who expect Iran to yield should consider it “nothing more than a dream.”
The Iranian president further highlighted the importance of national unity, warning that Iran’s adversaries aim to create internal divisions in order to weaken the country and advance their objectives.
