PM Shehbaz, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Agree to Meet Soon Amid Rising Regional Tensions

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have agreed to remain in close contact and meet soon as tensions continue to escalate across the region.

The understanding was reached during a telephone conversation between the two leaders on Sunday, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure and reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kingdom.

The prime minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace and stability in the region.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Saudi Arabia and expressed gratitude for Islamabad’s continued solidarity during the current regional crisis.

The two leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and communication in the days ahead, with a meeting between them expected to take place soon.
