Lahore: Wedding celebrations for Junaid Safdar began in full swing on Friday night with a colourful mehndi ceremony held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umrah residence. The lively event marked the start of a series of traditional festivities.
Junaid, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, shared his first official photo with bride-to-be Shanzeh on Instagram, quickly drawing attention online. Shanzeh is the granddaughter of senior PML-N leader Rohail Asghar.
The mehndi featured elegant green-themed décor with traditional backdrops. Junaid, a UK-trained lawyer, wore a navy HSY sherwani paired with a brown shawl, while Shanzeh stood out in a dark green Sabyasachi lehenga, styled with statement jewellery and sleek makeup by Saad Samie.
CM Maryam Nawaz was also seen in the photo, dressed in a heavily embellished yellow outfit that complemented the festive atmosphere.
More photos shared by event teams showcased vibrant décor, coordinated outfits and close family moments. The wedding festivities will continue with the baraat on January 17 and the valima on January 18, as social media fills with congratulations and prayers for the couple.
