Interior Minister updates PM Shehbaz on country’s security situation

LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and briefed him on the security situation in the country, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

According to the PMO statement, Naqvi met the premier in Lahore, where he provided a detailed briefing on the overall security situation in the country and the measures being taken in this regard.

The interior minister also informed the prime minister about the security arrangements made for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, which is scheduled to be held in Lahore on Sunday.

PM Shehbaz Sharif directed Naqvi to ensure the best possible arrangements for players, spectators, and citizens.

In February, the interior minister had also met the premier to review the country’s overall security environment following major suicide attacks in the federal capital.

At that time, PM Shehbaz had instructed Naqvi to address the security situation in Islamabad and other related matters in an effective and efficient manner.
