JCP Recommends Confirmation of 10 Sindh High Court Judges

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Tuesday recommended the confirmation of 10 additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) as permanent judges.

The decision was made during a meeting of the JCP, chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi. According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the commission approved the confirmations by a majority vote after reviewing performance evaluations, antecedents and relevant judicial records.

The judges recommended for confirmation are Justice Miran Muhammad Shah, Justice Tasneem Sultana, Justice Riazat Ali Sahar, Justice Muhammad Hasan (Akber), Justice Abdul Hamid Bhurgi, Justice Jan Ali Junejo, Justice Nisar Ahmed Bhanbhro, Justice Ali Haider “Ada”, Justice Muhammad Osman Ali Hadi, and Justice Muhammad Jaffer Raza.

Meanwhile, Justice Khalid Hussain Shahani and Justice Syed Fiaz ul Hassan Shah were granted a six-month extension as additional judges of the SHC.

The commission also nominated four SHC judges to the Constitutional Benches and extended the tenure of these benches by another six months. The nominated judges include Justice Amjad Ali Bohio, Justice Muhammad Hasan (Akber), Justice Ali Haider “Ada”, and Justice Muhammad Osman Ali Hadi.

Earlier this week, the JCP also recommended the confirmation of three additional judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC)Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Justice Muhammad Asif, and Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas — along with Justice Najam-ud-Din Mengal as a judge of the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
