Two LPG Ships from Oman Arrive in Pakistan, Prices Expected to Decline

KARACHI: Two ships carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Oman have arrived in Pakistan, raising hopes of a reduction in LPG prices as supplies improve.

According to sources, the two vessels brought LPG to Port Qasim, with their combined cargo reported at 7,603 metric tonnes.

The vessel Prianis unloaded 4,250 metric tonnes of LPG at the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) terminal, while Alisa One discharged 3,083 metric tonnes at the Engro terminal.

Sources further indicated that the stalled supply of LPG through Iran’s border routes could also resume from tomorrow.

Market sources expect LPG prices to decline from tomorrow as a result of improved supplies. However, the extent of any reduction will depend on market conditions and the availability of additional consignments.

The arrival of the two vessels, along with the possible resumption of cross-border supplies, is expected to ease supply pressures in Pakistan’s LPG market.
