Islamabad — Pakistan’s first theme park of its kind is set to be developed in Islamabad, with Saudi investors expected to finance the project while the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will provide the land for its construction.
A ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project was held at the historic Gaddafi Stadium, with Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi attending as the chief guest.
The MoU was signed by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council, and CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf. Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the agreement and congratulated Prince Mansour on the development.
Under the agreement, Saudi investors will invest in the proposed theme park in Islamabad, while the CDA will allocate land for the project.
Addressing the ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi warmly welcomed the Saudi delegation and said Islamabad’s infrastructure was being developed along the lines of modern international cities.
He described the theme park as a potential game-changer for the capital and assured Saudi investors that they would receive all possible facilities and support. He also announced plans to organise a real estate roadshow in Saudi Arabia in the coming months to explore further investment opportunities.
Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud said Pakistan, particularly Islamabad, offered excellent opportunities for investment.
Members of the CDA and officials accompanying the Saudi delegation also attended the ceremony.
The proposed theme park is expected to form part of Islamabad’s broader urban development and investment drive. However, details regarding the project’s location, investment value, construction timeline and planned attractions were not specified in the announcement.
