Pakistan Suffer 4-2 Defeat Against Gambia in FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival Opener

BAKU: Pakistan suffered a 4-2 defeat against Gambia in the opening match of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan.

Pakistan made an impressive start, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Amir Hamza. Baksi Hamal Khan then scored another goal to give Pakistan a commanding 2-0 advantage.

However, Pakistan were unable to maintain their early lead as Gambia fought back. The Gambian side reduced the deficit before the end of the first half and scored three more goals in the second half to secure a 4-2 victory.

Pakistan’s Kaleemullah also made several attempts to find the net but was unable to convert his chances.

Despite their promising start and two-goal advantage, Pakistan could not prevent Gambia from completing the comeback, leaving the national U-15 side with a defeat in its opening fixture of the tournament.
