NEW YORK: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to abolish visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official or special passports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar announced the development in a post on social media, saying the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Ishaq Dar signed the agreement with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
According to Ishaq Dar, the agreement will facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He said the initiative would also contribute to further advancing the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries across areas of mutual interest.
The agreement is aimed at easing official travel and strengthening institutional-level contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
