NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Egypt and expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, economic relations, education, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the prevailing situation in the Middle East and Iran. They underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges.
Ishaq Dar stressed the need for all parties to fully implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The two sides also reaffirmed the importance of continued consultations under the Regional Four (R4) framework and agreed to deepen coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The ministers further emphasized the importance of sustained international cooperation and effective multilateralism to address common global challenges.
