Washington: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) says 105 vessels have been diverted since the start of the US naval blockade of Iran.
According to CENTCOM, the actions were carried out to ensure compliance with the blockade.
The USS Boxer, a US Navy amphibious assault ship operating in the Arabian Sea, has conducted flight operations, while a US Marine unit deployed aboard the vessel has also been participating in ongoing operations to enforce the blockade.
The US military’s Central Command said the USS Boxer and the Marine unit aboard the ship continue to enforce the US naval blockade against Iran.
CENTCOM had announced in July that it would resume the blockade of Iran’s maritime routes. Under the measures, maritime traffic traveling to and from Iranian ports has been restricted.
