TEHRAN: Iran’s top joint military command, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has warned that recent US threats targeting Iran’s oil infrastructure could endanger all oil and gas exports across the region.
The command said that any attempt to pressure or strike Iran’s energy sector would have wider consequences for global energy flows.
“In light of recent US threats against Iran’s oil infrastructure, it is declared that either oil and gas exports will be possible for everyone, or they will be possible for no one,” the military command said in comments carried by Iran’s IRIB broadcaster.
The statement underscores Tehran’s position that disruptions to its energy facilities could trigger broader instability in regional oil and gas markets.
The remarks came after a social media post by US President Donald Trump in which he said the United States would “assume total control” of Iran’s oil and gas markets “in the not too distant future.”
