Saudi Ambassador Calls for Global Coalition to Defeat Houthis

WASHINGTON: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, has called for the formation of an international coalition to defeat Yemen’s Houthi militia.

In an opinion article published in The New York Times, Princess Reema said the Houthi movement had evolved into a terrorist threat extending far beyond Yemen.

She urged the international community to confront the Houthi militia with the same determination and unity that helped defeat the Islamic State (ISIS).

The Saudi ambassador’s remarks underscore Riyadh’s call for coordinated international efforts to counter the Houthi movement and address the wider security threats associated with its activities.
