Lahore: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has decided to take a short break from cricket on the advice of the national team management.
Sources said the team management recommended that the former captain take rest, due to which he will not participate in the ongoing National T20 Cup. The management also did not instruct him to play in the tournament.
According to reports, Babar Azam has informed Lahore Whites, who are competing in the National T20 Cup, about his unavailability.
Sources added that during this period the batter has started training in the nets with personal coaches to further improve his batting, keeping preparations for the upcoming Pakistan Super League in focus.
Reports said Babar Azam is working to regain the effectiveness of his previous batting technique. He is expected to open the innings for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.
