SECP Registers 3,444 New Companies in February

ISLAMABAD: Business activity and corporate registrations in Pakistan are showing a steady increase, attributed to the facilitation measures introduced under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), a total of 3,444 new companies were registered during the month of February.

With the addition of these firms, the total number of registered companies in the country has reached 287,049, reflecting growing confidence among investors in Pakistan’s business environment.

The SECP data further showed that 82 newly registered companies include foreign investors, with significant participation from China and the United States.

Global investors have mainly focused on sectors such as minerals, trade, and information technology, highlighting the importance of Pakistan’s natural resources and its emerging digital economy.

Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad said that during the past 15 months, around 19 major international companies, including BYD, Google, and Aramco, have entered Pakistan for investment opportunities.

Officials say the consistent rise in company registrations reflects an improving business climate and growing investor confidence in the country.

They added that the effective facilitation provided by the SIFC is playing a key role in promoting sustainable economic growth and expanding business opportunities in Pakistan.
