RAWALPINDI: US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker and representatives of US-based defence firm Powerus met with Field Marshal Asim Munir in Rawalpindi to discuss opportunities for cooperation in defence procurement and production.
The meeting focused on strengthening the US-Pakistan security partnership and exploring avenues for greater collaboration in the defence sector.
According to the US Embassy, the engagement reflects Washington’s objective of enhancing partners’ self-sufficiency in defence capabilities, enabling them to better address emerging security challenges.
The US side said a strong US-Pakistan security partnership contributes to the mutual safety of both countries as well as regional security in South Asia.
The discussions also highlighted potential cooperation in defence production, with a focus on expanding capabilities and strengthening Pakistan’s capacity to meet its security requirements.
