Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held talks with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of the Global Alliance Meeting on the Two-State Solution in Rome.
The two ministers reaffirmed the need to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza, disarm the sector, ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid for civilians, and launch early recovery activities. They also stressed the importance of supporting reform efforts undertaken by the Palestinian Authority, according to a joint statement published by the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
Despite the start of the so-called “ceasefire” in October 2025, near-daily Israeli violations have killed at least 1,207 people and wounded 3,914 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The statement said the ministers also condemned the escalation of settler violence in the West Bank and stressed the urgent need to protect the Palestinian population. They reiterated their opposition to any form of annexation of the West Bank, whether partial, total or de facto, as well as to the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the ministers stressed the waterway’s importance and opposed any “unilateral actions that would restrict maritime transit”.
