WASHINGTON: Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived at the White House, where he is expected to hold a closed-door meeting in the Oval Office with US President Donald Trump.
This is the first meeting between the two leaders since the US-Israel war on Iran began on February 28. The conflict is likely to be at the top of the agenda, along with Israel’s war on Lebanon and the disarmament of Hezbollah.
Netanyahu’s visit comes as he faces growing unpopularity at home and abroad, while relations between him and Trump have reportedly become strained.
Meanwhile, the US and Iran have paused their tit-for-tat military strikes and resumed peace negotiations.
