Lebanon PM Vows Push for Full Israeli Withdrawal After US-Iran Ceasefire Deal

BEIRUT: Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has said that government will intensify efforts to secure a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and ensure the release of Lebanese prisoners following the announcement of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement.

In a statement, Salam expressed hope that the agreement would succeed in bringing an end to the war and stop the killing, destruction, displacement, and suffering endured by the Lebanese people during the conflict.

He also extended his gratitude to all those who contributed to achieving the breakthrough, describing the agreement as a significant step towards restoring stability in the region.

The Lebanese premier said he looked forward to the safe and dignified return of displaced citizens to their towns and villages as soon as possible. He added that the government would work closely with its partners to secure the resources and support needed for reconstruction efforts across affected areas.
