Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran has always welcomed dialogue and agreements and continues to do so.
In a statement, Masoud Pezeshkian said that the main obstacles in genuine negotiations are violations of commitments, blockades, and threats.
Without naming Donald Trump, the Iranian president criticized him, saying that “the world is watching the constant contradictions between your hypocritical rhetoric, claims, and actions,” while stressing that Iran has always welcomed dialogue and agreements and continues to do so.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that a complete ceasefire would only be acceptable if there is no maritime blockade, adding that a ceasefire only makes sense under such conditions.
He further stated that a ceasefire should not be violated through actions such as maritime blockades or holding the global economy hostage. He warned that in the event of a clear violation of the ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz would become impossible.
