Ishaq Dar, Norway FM Discuss Middle East Tensions

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Friday and discussed matters of mutual interest, including the evolving situation in the Middle East.

During the call, both leaders expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East and their potential consequences for the region and beyond.

They stressed the need for de-escalation, respect for international law, and a return to dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the ongoing crises.

The two ministers also discussed the situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide conveyed condolences over the loss of lives in the recent terrorist attack at a mosque in Islamabad.

Both leaders strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reaffirmed the need for international cooperation to combat the threat.

They also agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
