Istanbul: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that the campaign by Indian media against the Makkah Defence Alliance reflects New Delhi’s concerns over the emerging strategic partnership between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking in an interview with a Turkish television channel, Fidan said the growing prospects of strategic cooperation among Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia had made India uneasy.
He said India could not undermine the Makkah Defence Alliance through criticism and misinformation, adding that cooperation among the three countries represented an important strategic development whose implications would become clearer over time.
Fidan further stated that India could criticise the alliance but could not ignore its strategic significance.
