NCCIA Rescues 13-Year-Old Girl from Alleged Online Task Network in Karachi

KARACHI: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has rescued a 13-year-old girl allegedly targeted by an online network, following information received from an international intelligence agency.

According to NCCIA officials, the girl was allegedly being assigned tasks by a group reportedly linked to the dark web. As part of the first task, she was instructed to poison a cat, while the second task allegedly directed her to inflict serious harm on herself.

The NCCIA team reached the girl before she could complete the second task and informed her parents about the situation. Officials said the parents were previously unaware of their daughter’s online activities.

The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are tracing the accounts that allegedly contacted the girl. Investigators are also examining whether the network has targeted other children in Pakistan.

The agency is working to identify those involved and determine the extent of the alleged network’s activities.
