Riyadh: Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence, facilities belonging to oil giant Saudi Aramco, and two international airports over the past 48 hours.
According to international media reports, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operations targeted the Ministry of Defence building in the Saudi capital, Riyadh; Aramco facilities in the Red Sea coastal city of Yanbu; Abha International Airport; and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.
Saree said the operations were carried out over the past two days. However, details about the weapons used and the extent of damage caused to the reported targets were not immediately available.
Meanwhile, Saudi authorities reported that two people had been killed in an incident near King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. It remains unclear whether the fatalities were connected to any of the attacks claimed by the Houthis.
The Houthi claims and the reported targeting of the Saudi facilities have not been independently verified.
