Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a statement addressing regional developments, Iran’s relations with neighboring countries, and its broader strategic position in West Asia.
In his message, Khamenei urged Iran’s southern neighbors to closely observe current regional changes and avoid what he described as reliance on misleading promises.
He stated that Iran expects a constructive response from regional states that could reflect “brotherhood and goodwill,” emphasizing cooperation based on independence from external influence.
He further stated that Iran would not leave any aggression against the country unanswered and would seek accountability and compensation for damages and casualties resulting from recent conflicts.
He also highlighted plans related to the development and management of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy transit route.
The statement reiterated that Iran does not seek war but will not compromise on what it considers its legitimate rights under any circumstances.
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei added: “We will in no way relinquish our rights, and in this regard we consider the entire Resistance Axis as a unified whole.”
The remarks came one day before Islamabad is set to host high-level talks between the United States and Iran, with delegations from both sides expected to arrive for negotiations aimed at addressing ongoing tensions following a recent ceasefire.
