Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a statement on X regarding the situation in the Middle East, commenting on ongoing developments in Lebanon and other regional conflicts.
In his post, Asif criticized the actions of Israel, alleging that violence against civilians is continuing in Lebanon.
He also referred to previous conflicts in Gaza and Iran, stating that bloodshed has persisted across different areas.
The statement included strong remarks about the historical formation of Israel and its role in the region.

Following the post, responses were issued by Israeli officials. The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the comments were not acceptable and noted that such statements are concerning, particularly from a country involved in peace-related discussions.
Separately, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz described the remarks as serious and expressed concern over the language used. He added that Israel views such statements as significant and reiterated that the country maintains its position on defending itself.
The exchange of statements comes at a time when regional developments in the Middle East, including Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran, continue to draw international attention.
