U.S. Congress Introduces Impeachment Resolution Against President Trump

Washington: Significant political turbulence is unfolding in the United States as Congressman John B. Larson introduced impeachment resolution H.Res. 1155 against President Donald J. Trump.

The resolution accuses President Trump of serious crimes and misconduct and has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee for review.

The articles of impeachment were drafted by Ralph Nader and Bruce Fein, encompassing 13 separate charges.

Key allegations include unauthorized military actions, misuse of wartime powers, violations of civil liberties and freedom of speech, and the exploitation of government authority for personal purposes.Additionally, actions such as naval blockades are cited, which some lawmakers consider tantamount to war crimes.

Meanwhile, over 50 House Democrats and two Senate Democrats have called for the immediate removal of Trump following his controversial post on Iran, either through impeachment or under the 25th Amendment.

However, with Republicans holding a majority in the House, the resolution faces slim chances of passing and is likely to remain confined to debate and investigative stages.

The White House has criticized the effort, calling it “weak.”

This move highlights the growing political tension within the U.S. and adds to the legal and political pressure on President Trump, further deepening divisions and partisan conflicts in the country.
