Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday accused India of planning a “false-flag operation” aimed at blaming Pakistan, warning that New Delhi would face a strong response if it attempted such a “drama.”
Speaking to the media in Sialkot, Asif claimed that India might stage incidents using its own operatives or detained Pakistanis, allegedly placing bodies to frame them as terrorists responsible for attacks.
He described this tactic as an attempt to mislead both the international community and Indian public opinion.Asif referenced the humiliation faced by India in the previous year, highlighting that despite India’s larger population, resources, and military, including its air force, it had suffered significant setbacks.
He warned that such backlash against India would continue indefinitely, citing the Pakistan Air Force’s performance in last year’s conflict as an example. The minister further threatened that any attempt by India to carry out a staged operation would be met with decisive retaliation, saying, “If they try to enact such a drama this time, then God-willingly, we will take them to Kolkata,” referring to the eastern Indian city near the Bangladesh border.
In addition to his remarks on India, Asif highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s mediation efforts would succeed, emphasizing the country’s aim to promote regional stability and help achieve a resolution of disputes.
