TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has dismissed claims by US media, stating that Tehran has never refused to travel to Islamabad for potential peace talks regarding the ongoing conflict.
He described such reports as inaccurate and misleading, emphasizing that they do not reflect Iran’s true position. Araghchi reaffirmed that Iran remains open to dialogue and is willing to participate in negotiations facilitated by Pakistan.
He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and acknowledged its constructive role in attempting to ease tensions. However, he stressed that the key concern for Tehran is not the location of the talks, but the terms under which they are conducted.
According to him, Iran is seeking a conclusive and lasting end to what it calls an “illegal war” imposed on the country, and any negotiations must lead to a meaningful resolution.
In a show of appreciation, Araghchi also shared a video depicting Iranians waving Pakistani flags, highlighting public support for Pakistan’s stance and its people during the ongoing crisis.
