Tehran: In his Nowruz message marking the Iranian New Year 1405, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Iran, emphasized the importance of fostering closer ties with Iran’s eastern neighbors, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Addressing the occasion, Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted Pakistan as a country held in special regard by the late Imam Khomeini.
He recalled the profound concern expressed by the late leader for Pakistan during Friday prayers, particularly in response to the devastating floods that threatened the lives of fellow Muslims in the country.
“I have long considered Pakistan close to us, and for various reasons, I have consistently expressed this sentiment in numerous meetings,” he said.
The Supreme Leader called upon the two brotherly nations to strengthen bilateral relations for the sake of God and to preserve unity within the Muslim community.
He further assured that Iran is ready to take necessary measures to support this endeavor.
