Pressure Mounts on Donald Trump Administration Over Iran School Strike

Washington / Tehran: A controversy has erupted in the United States after lawmakers accused the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump of misleading the public over a deadly strike on a school in Iran that reportedly killed 175 people, most of them children.

U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib strongly condemned the incident, saying the Trump administration initially denied responsibility but later confirmed that U.S. forces had carried out the bombing.

According to her statement, the attack targeted a school and resulted in the deaths of 175 people, most of them girls.

She called the incident a “heinous war crime” and demanded accountability at the international level.

Tlaib also urged that Trump should face impeachment and called for the dismissal of U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, arguing that senior officials must be held responsible for the attack and the alleged attempt to mislead the public about it.

Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders also criticized the administration’s handling of the incident.

Sanders stated that on Saturday, Trump had claimed the attack on an elementary school in Iran—which killed 175 people, mostly children—had been carried out by Iran itself.

However, according to Sanders, the U.S. military later acknowledged that the strike was conducted by American forces.

Sanders questioned the credibility of the administration, saying that if officials were willing to misrepresent such a major incident, it raises concerns about what other information might be inaccurate or misleading.

The incident has intensified political debate in Washington while drawing global attention to the humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

Human rights advocates and international observers are now calling for an independent investigation to establish the facts and determine accountability.
