Washington (Monitoring Desk): U.S. President Donald Trump will host the inaugural meeting of his newly formed “Board of Peace” on Thursday in Washington, bringing together representatives of invited states to discuss strategy and funding for the reconstruction of Gaza.
According to available details, the opening session will primarily focus on announcing a coordinated reconstruction framework for Gaza, which has been largely reduced to rubble following Israel’s ongoing military campaign.
The initiative comes amid widespread international criticism of the humanitarian impact of the war and Washington’s continued diplomatic and military support for Israel.

The White House has officially extended invitations to 50 countries to join the Board of Peace. Of these, 35 countries have so far expressed interest in participation.
At present, 26 countries have formally joined the board and have been designated as founding members of the initiative. However, the initiative has also faced resistance.
At least 14 countries have declined the invitation outright, while several others have reportedly delayed their decision, despite receiving formal invitations from Washington.
Diplomatic sources indicate that representatives attending Thursday’s meeting will deliberate on funding mechanisms, logistical coordination, and political oversight for Gaza’s reconstruction.
The discussions are expected to include proposals for long-term international involvement in rebuilding infrastructure and managing post-war recovery efforts in the besieged enclave.
The launch of the Board of Peace reflects a broader U.S.-led effort to shape post-war arrangements for Gaza, even as the conflict continues.
Critics argue that any reconstruction plan remains deeply controversial in the absence of a ceasefire and accountability for the destruction caused during the war.
Further details regarding financial commitments, governance structures, and the future role of participating countries are expected to emerge following the conclusion of the inaugural meeting.
