QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Asim Munir on Monday said externally sponsored terrorism, propaganda and disinformation campaigns could not obstruct Pakistan’s destined rise.
Addressing officers and troops of formations deployed in Balochistan, the army chief stated that Pakistan’s progress could not be derailed through fake news, propaganda or foreign-backed terrorism.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief visited Quetta where he interacted with officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College before meeting officers and troops deployed in Balochistan.
During his address at the college, the field marshal praised the institution’s high standards of training, intellectual rigour and professionalism, noting that its graduates had consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication to the profession.
Highlighting the changing dynamics of modern warfare, Asim Munir stressed the need to keep pace with emerging technologies, multi-domain operations, tri-services synergy and future battlefield challenges.
He urged officers to continuously train themselves and their troops to effectively respond to the evolving nature of warfare while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, preparedness and operational excellence.
While interacting with troops deployed in Balochistan, the army chief reviewed the prevailing security situation and reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, remained fully committed to eliminating terrorism across the country.
He said hostile forces attempting to hinder Pakistan’s progress through proxies and propaganda would ultimately fail because of the resilience of the state and the unity of its people.
Emphasising the importance of long-term peace and stability in Balochistan, the field marshal said sustainable progress depended on a people-centric approach, inclusive development and improved governance alongside security measures.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Government of Balochistan for public welfare, socio-economic development and strengthening relations between the state and the people of the province.
The army chief further commended the high morale, operational preparedness and professional commitment of officers and troops in maintaining peace, stability and the writ of the state in Balochistan.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Quetta, Asim Munir was received by the commander of Quetta Corps.
