PM Shehbaz Sharif, President Masoud Pezeshkian Hold Talks on Regional Peace and Security

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan would continue its sincere and honest efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

He conveyed this assurance to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian during a 50-minute telephone conversation.

In what was described as a warm and cordial exchange, the two leaders discussed in detail the current regional situation and ongoing efforts aimed at advancing peace and stability across the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the participation of a high-level Iranian delegation in the talks held in Islamabad on 11th and 12th of this month.

He also welcomed Iran’s decision to send a delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad, which held important meetings yesterday.

Sharing an overview of his recent diplomatic outreach to several world leaders, the Prime Minister emphasized that these engagements had helped build a broader consensus in support of sustained dialogue and diplomacy for achieving lasting peace in the war-affected region.

President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their significant contributions to peace efforts.

He further expressed confidence that the fraternal relations between Iran and Pakistan would continue to grow stronger and expand in the future.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his respectful greetings and regards to the Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and continue working together in the future.
