Celine Dion Plans Major Comeback With Paris Concerts

PARIS: Canadian music icon Celine Dion is preparing for a major comeback, with plans to perform multiple concerts at Paris La Défense Arena in September and October, according to Daily Mail.

The venue, Europe’s largest indoor arena with a capacity of up to 40,000 spectators per night, could host as many as two shows per week. The concerts would mark Dion’s first performances in France since 2017.

Excitement has grown in Paris after posters appeared across the city featuring titles of her biggest hits, including My Heart Will Go On and The Power of Love, widely interpreted as part of a teaser campaign for her return.

Dion has hinted at a comeback several times in recent months. Her rendition of L’Hymne à l’amour by Edith Piaf during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics was widely praised, while her appearance at a concert by Paul McCartney in Las Vegas further fuelled optimism among fans.

“I believe in myself, in my courage… I will return to the stage because I am ready,” Dion said in a recent interview.

Her planned return carries special significance following her 2022 diagnosis with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle spasms and has affected her ability to sing and perform. She previously told fans the condition had impacted her daily life and vocal abilities.
