Another Pakistani Dies in UAE as Missile Debris Claims Fourth Life

ABU DHABI: A fourth Pakistani national has been killed in the United Arab Emirates amid the recent wave of missile-related incidents, officials confirmed on Thursday, as arrangements are being made to repatriate the body to Pakistan for burial. The latest fatality underscores the growing human toll of escalating regional tensions.

The incident took place on Sweihan Street, located in the northeastern part of Abu Dhabi, where debris fell following the interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems. Authorities said the area, which includes both residential and industrial zones, was struck by falling fragments after the missile was neutralised mid-air.

According to officials, the Pakistani victim was killed instantly when the debris landed, while emergency services responded swiftly to secure the area. The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi stated that it is working closely with Emirati authorities to support the victim’s family and ensure the timely repatriation of the body.

UAE authorities confirmed that the same incident also claimed the life of an Indian national and left three others injured, including citizens of the UAE, Jordan, and India. The injured individuals were reported to be in conditions ranging from moderate to serious and are currently receiving medical treatment.

This latest tragedy follows earlier incidents in Dubai and other parts of Abu Dhabi, where three Pakistani nationals had already lost their lives in similar circumstances. With this latest death, the total number of Pakistani casualties in the UAE has risen to four.

The incidents come against the backdrop of ongoing regional tensions involving Iran, where missile exchanges and air defence interceptions have increasingly posed risks beyond immediate conflict zones. Falling debris from intercepted projectiles has emerged as a significant hazard for civilians in nearby countries.

Authorities in the UAE continue to monitor the situation closely, while diplomatic missions remain engaged in ensuring the safety and welfare of their nationals amid the deteriorating security environment.
