Pakistan Conducts Precision Strikes on 7 Terror Camps Along Pak-Afghan Border

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan carried out intelligence-based strikes targeting 7 terrorist camps and hideouts belonging to Fitna al Khwarij (FAK), its affiliates, and the Daesh Khorasan Province (DKP) along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in response to recent suicide attacks, the government said early Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Information, the operation was executed “with precision and accuracy” as a retributive response to suicide bombing incidents in Islamabad, Bajaur, and Bannu during the holy month of Ramzan.

Officials stated that the targeted locations were being used to plan and facilitate attacks inside Pakistan.

The ministry said the suicide bombings were carried out by Khwarij militants under the direction of Afghanistan-based leadership and handlers.

It added that responsibility for the attacks had also been claimed by Afghanistan-based Pakistani Taliban elements linked to FAK and Daesh.

Despite repeated diplomatic engagement, Pakistan said it had urged the Afghan Taliban authorities to take verifiable and concrete measures to prevent the use of Afghan territory by terrorist organizations and foreign proxies.

However, according to the statement, no substantive action was taken.

Reaffirming its commitment to regional peace, the government emphasized that while Pakistan has consistently worked for stability and cooperation in the region, the safety and security of its citizens remains its top priority.

The statement further noted that Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to fulfill its obligations and prevent militant groups from using Afghan soil to carry out attacks against Pakistan.

The Ministry of Information also called on the international community to play a constructive role by encouraging Afghan authorities to honor their commitments under the Doha Agreement, particularly the provision preventing the use of Afghan territory against other countries.

It stressed that meaningful action in this regard is essential for ensuring regional and global peace and security.
