Prince William Reportedly Supports Probe Into Prince Andrew

LONDON: Britain’s Prince William has reportedly expressed support for calls seeking a criminal investigation into his uncle, Prince Andrew, following the release of new information linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to British media reports.

Sources close to the Prince of Wales were quoted as saying that William believes public confidence in the monarchy depends on adherence to truth and accountability, and that no individual should be seen as above the law.

Royal commentator Tom Sykes reported that friends of Prince William have indicated he would have “no hesitation” in supporting a police probe into Prince Andrew’s conduct if he were monarch. According to Sykes, William believes the monarchy’s credibility rests on at least demonstrating respect for legal principles and transparency.

The reports suggest a divergence of views within the royal family, as King Charles III is said to oppose a police investigation into his brother’s case. British media claim that the King has continued to provide financial support to Prince Andrew following his relocation from Royal Lodge to Wood Lodge.

Another royal expert, Duncan Larcombe, said the monarch was likely to continue supporting his brother financially, adding that King Charles had limited options in dealing with the situation.

Prince Andrew stepped back from public royal duties following allegations connected to the Epstein scandal. He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
