Islamabad: Pakistan’s security forces have successfully concluded Operation Raddul Fitna-1 in Balochistan, killing at least 216 terrorists in a series of coordinated intelligence-based operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing said the operation comprised swift, precise, and intelligence-driven actions against India-sponsored terrorist elements attempting to disrupt peace and development in the province by targeting innocent civilians, including women and children.
However, the ISPR confirmed that 36 civilians, among them women and children, along with 22 personnel of the security forces and law enforcement agencies, embraced martyrdom during the operations.
The counterterrorism campaign was launched following a surge in attacks carried out by India-backed Fitna al-Hindustan, including the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), across several districts of Balochistan last weekend.
On January 31, terrorists targeted civilians in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar, and Pasni, drawing widespread condemnation from the international community, including the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Iran, the UAE, France, Canada, the European Union, the OIC, and the UN Security Council.
According to the ISPR, operations were initially launched on January 29, 2026, in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai district after credible intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorist hideouts posing an imminent threat to local populations. During this phase, 41 terrorists linked to Indian proxy networks were eliminated.
The military said subsequent attempts by Fitna al-Hindustan to destabilise the province were effectively thwarted through aggressive and sustained responses. This was followed by expanded intelligence-based operations across multiple areas, aimed at dismantling terrorist sleeper cells through continuous combing and sanitisation efforts.
“Through meticulous planning, actionable intelligence, and seamless joint execution, Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies responded with precision and resolve,” the ISPR stated, adding that the operation significantly degraded the terrorists’ leadership, command-and-control systems, and operational capabilities.
Paying tribute to the martyrs, the ISPR said the bravery and professionalism of the fallen personnel reflected the highest traditions of service, and the nation stands in solidarity with their families.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to eliminate terrorism in all forms under the National Action Plan (NAP), vowing that counterterrorism operations would continue until all threats are neutralised.
President, PM Laud Security Forces
Reacting to the successful conclusion of the operation, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for timely action that foiled the terrorists’ nefarious designs. He said intelligence-based operations had delivered a decisive blow to foreign-backed terrorism and paid tribute to the martyred civilians and personnel.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, expressing deep grief over the loss of innocent lives. “The Pakistani nation can never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs,” he said, adding that targeting civilians proved terrorists were enemies of Balochistan’s development and its people.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said Operation Raddul Fitna-1 sent a clear message to Indian proxy terrorists and their handlers. “The BLA is a nuisance acting at India’s behest to obstruct Pakistan’s progress. Pakistan will not compromise on its unity, development, or the security of its people,” he asserted.
