Pakistan Joins Joint Statement Urging Respect for Gaza Ceasefire

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and several Muslim-Arab nations on Sunday condemned Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations in Gaza, warning that continued attacks threaten regional peace and stability.

In a joint statement, the Foreign Office said Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar — all founding members of US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace — denounce Israeli strikes that have killed and injured more than a thousand Palestinians.

On Saturday, Israel carried out some of its deadliest airstrikes since the October ceasefire, targeting houses, tents, and a police station, and killing more than 30 people, including three girls from a single family. Hamas, which governs roughly half of Gaza, confirmed the ceasefire violations but did not specify whether any of its members or facilities were affected.

The statement warned that the attacks risk escalating tensions and obstruct efforts to advance the second phase of Trump’s peace plan and implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803. The foreign ministers of these countries called for full adherence to the ceasefire, restraint from all parties, and the creation of conditions for recovery, reconstruction, and a lasting peace based on Palestinian self-determination and statehood under international law.
