Flydubai Co-Pilot Wanted to Target Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport: UAE Attorney General

ABU DHABI: The suspect in the Flydubai incident, a co-pilot, intended to target Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, the UAE Attorney General has said.

According to the UAE Attorney General, the suspect worked for Oman Air from 2020 to 2024 before joining Royal Air Maroc in early 2025.

He subsequently became associated with Flydubai in January 2026.

The Attorney General further stated that the suspect had been influenced by extremist literature and material praising terrorist organizations.

The suspect reportedly confessed to planning and carrying out the operation, claiming that he had acted alone.

The UAE authorities have not provided further details about the incident in the information released so far.
