Trump Claims Positive Call with Putin, Expects Millions of Tons of Russian Diesel

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has described his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin as positive and successful, claiming that the two leaders discussed energy supplies and key international issues.

According to Trump, Russia is expected to supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the United States and the global market soon.

He said an additional 500,000 tons could be delivered in November, followed by another 1 million tons at a later stage.

The US president further claimed that Russia could potentially supply an additional 3 million tons of diesel, depending on the situation at Russian refineries.

Trump suggested that increased Russian diesel supplies could help lower fuel prices in the United States and other parts of the world.

However, the proposed deliveries and their potential impact on global energy markets have not been independently confirmed.

Meanwhile, Trump expressed concerns about potential Iranian missile threats to the United States. He claimed that Iran could potentially attempt to target San Diego first, followed by Los Angeles.

The president suggested that the two California cities could become potential targets of missile attacks but did not provide further details or evidence to substantiate the claim.

Trump also said that the situation involving Iran would be resolved in one way or another in the near future.

Addressing the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the US president claimed that Washington had complete control over the critical maritime passage and predicted that the waterway would reopen soon.
