ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani in Islamabad and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.
Dr. Al Zayani is visiting Pakistan to co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission.
Welcoming the Bahraini foreign minister, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes for the leadership and people of Bahrain.
He appreciated the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries, saying that their ties were rooted in shared values, mutual trust and strong people-to-people contacts.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in bilateral relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy and human resource development.
Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the good wishes and greetings of the Bahraini leadership to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He also reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular consultations and close coordination on matters of mutual interest.
The Bahraini foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and mediation efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence that the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission would contribute to expanding cooperation and further strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the close and longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.
