TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has discussed the recently signed US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and broader regional developments with Basem Naeem, a senior member of Hamas’s political bureau, according to Iranian state television.
During the conversation, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the region, including the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington. The discussion comes as Iran and the United States continue efforts to implement the interim agreement aimed at easing tensions and advancing a broader settlement.
Hamas welcomed the agreement between Iran and the United States and expressed hope that the deal could contribute to ending the violence in the Gaza Strip, which has been devastated by more than two years of war with Israel.
According to a transcript of the call carried by Iranian state television, Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause. He reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic would continue backing the Palestinian people “and their just cause until their legitimate national rights are fully realised.”
The call reflects Iran’s efforts to keep regional allies informed about the diplomatic process while emphasizing its continued support for Palestine amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
