TEHRAN: Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiyaa Central Command has accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire in southern Lebanon and warned that Tehran could respond if the alleged breaches continue.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the command claimed that Israeli forces had violated the ceasefire at least 84 times in the two days since U.S. President Donald Trump announced an end to hostilities.
“The terrorist army of the Zionist regime has violated the ceasefire in southern Lebanon at least 84 times in the past two days and continues its crimes and killings of the oppressed people in Lebanon,” the statement said.
The Iranian military command further warned that if Israeli forces “do not stop their mischief in southern Lebanon,” they should expect “a harsh response from the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions despite recent efforts to de-escalate the conflict. Israel has not immediately responded to the allegations.
The ceasefire announcement had raised hopes for a reduction in violence across the region, but accusations of violations by both sides continue to fuel concerns over the stability of the truce.
