Next round of Iran–US talks may be held in Islamabad or Geneva: report

NEW YORK: The next round of talks between United States and Iran may be held in either Geneva or Islamabad, according to the Associated Press, which cited informed sources.

The report states that US officials have indicated the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, is once again under consideration as a possible venue for the negotiations. At the same time, Geneva in Switzerland is also being viewed as a potential location for the next round of talks.

According to the sources, the discussions could potentially take place on Thursday, although neither the final venue nor the exact timing has been confirmed so far.Earlier, both sides held several rounds of negotiations in Islamabad on April 11.

The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while the US delegation was headed by JD Vance. Following those talks, both Iran and the United States stated that no agreement on a long-term solution was reached due to multiple disagreements. Details regarding any upcoming round of negotiations have not yet been disclosed.
