BAHAWALPUR: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all threats.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks during a visit to Bahawalpur Garrison, where he was briefed on operational preparedness, training standards and administrative matters of the Corps, with a focus on readiness for multi-domain warfare.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir witnessed a high-intensity field exercise, Steadfast Resolve, conducted at Khairpur Tamewali. The exercise showcased the integration of emerging technologies, including unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance tools, electronic warfare capabilities and modern command-and-control structures, reflecting the armed forces’ shift toward technology-driven operations.
Addressing officers and troops, the army chief praised their professionalism, morale and operational readiness, and stressed the need to maintain peak preparedness in view of evolving security challenges.
He noted that the nature of warfare was rapidly changing due to technological advancements, adding that future conflicts would increasingly depend on technological manoeuvres rather than conventional battlefield movements.
Field Marshal Munir said the armed forces were actively adopting modern technologies, with innovation, indigenisation and adaptability forming the core of this transformation.
Earlier, he inaugurated the ROHI E-Skills Learning Hub to promote digital education, particularly for students from southern Punjab and other regions. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, reaffirming the army’s commitment to quality education and character building.
Later, the army chief visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on advanced maintenance systems supporting modern military platforms through indigenisation and technological upgrades.
